Department of Mathematical Methods and Models

The Department of Mathematical Methods and Models, formerly known as the Department of Mathematics 2, provides fundamentals in mathematics to students majoring in engineering fields at the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages and Faculty of Entrepreneurship, Business Engineering and Management. The teaching process is carried out within accredited study programmes for undergraduate and graduate students and covers a wide range of topics. The course titles are shown in the Education list.

The department members are engaged in research activities in pure and applied mathematics. Their domains of interest can be found in the Research list. The department's scientific seminar brings together people from across many areas and develops active collaboration in promoting interdisciplinary research.

XXIV Annual Conference of the Romanian Society of Mathematical Sciences
The XXIVth edition of the Annual Conference of the Romanian Society of Mathematical Sciences will be held in person on Friday 28 October 2022, at University Politechnica of Bucharest. This event is organized by the Romanian Society of Mathematical Sciences, in collaboration with University Politechnica of Bucharest. The plenary section of the conference will start at 14:00, at the Conference Center of the UPB Central Library building. It will be followed by contributed talks from four sections: Mathematical Research, Solving Problems, Didactics and History of Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics. Teachers from both middle/high-schools and universities, as well as students from mathematical or technical faculties, are expected to participate in the conference. More information here.
